Within the international events planned to celebrate the V Centenary of Birth of St. Teresa of Jesus has organized a major international conference “Mystical Theology and Spirituality in the Carmelite tradition”.
The University of St Mary, London Twickenham has scheduled Thursday 18 to Saturday 20 June 2015 Irish a conference jointly sponsored by the British Carmelites and, Heythrop College, University of London, Sarum College, University of St. Mary, Twickenham, Theology and Mysticism Network.
This conference will explore the mystical theology and spirituality of Teresto de Avila from a variety of interdisciplinary perspectives. The theme of the presentations will focus on the origins of his interpretation of tradition and how this has led to many new discourses.
Leading academics and practitioners in the field discuss the importance of Teresa from historical perspectives, philosophical, pastoral, ecumenical, psychological and aesthetic. Among the teachers are Rowan Williams, Bernard McGinn, Julia Kristeva, Gillian Ahlgren; of the Order of Discalced Carmelite Fathers Wilfrid McGreal, Iain Mateo, Mateo Blake.
