The Bishop of Avila spent his last pastoral the V Centenario
On the occasion of the V Centenary of the birth of St. Teresa of Jesus, the Museum of Zamora has chosen as part of the month painting “St. Teresa receiving communion of San Pedro de Alcántara”.
This painting will remain on display until 3 May at the museum reception. In the same program will be conducted the tour 'divine Women at the Museum of Zamora’ every Saturday between 7 March and 2 May.
The painting depicts the influence of the Franciscan saint in the mystical visions of religious born in Avila. It comes from funds that disentailed, in the nineteenth century, gave rise to the Museum of Zamora. The tour under the name of 'divine Women at the Museum of Zamora’ will revolve around the figure of the woman, protagonist of parts and significant works both as an object of representation and devotion as their author.
